The great debate...the Mexican one.

While wrapping up my kids birthday party this weekend, I was inspired by a drunken conversation for today’s post. I know people who do not like to be called Mexican Americans…although they are. I also have friends who think that they are the “victim” because of their brown skin. I myself, consider myself “aware” of the country and its views on Mexican Americans, but do not let it define or direct me. Here are some bits and pieces of that ridiculous although rooted conversation.

Drunken 1: I’m not Mexican- American (ßsaid with disgust.) I am an American.

Drunken 2: If I go for a job and a white dude goes for a job, they are going to hire him because he is white and I am Mexican.

Drunken 3: Dude, y’all are stupid.

Drunken 1: I am Spanish.

Drunken 2: Did you know that Mexicans are of Spanish and Indian decent?

Drunken 3: They don’t care that you are American. When they see you, they will assume you are Mexican…like a real Mexican!

Sober Dee- Lets agree to disagree…now go home Mexicans!

Did you know that we (Mex-Amer) even talked about stuff like this? It’s amazing how the Mexican American people are divided among themselves on issues of ethnicity and immigration. Just thought I would share.

Eating too much crap!

For some reason my horrible eating habits start in October and dont seize until the new year! I have eaten soooo much freaking candy and junk over the past couple of weeks, and I feel like crap! I am intent on detoxing myself today! With my sons birthday party having just passed, we were left with tons of candy, rice krispy treats, candy trail mix, and oreo cookies, that I am going to scream! I seriously have eaten an entire bag of krispie treats by myself!

I am sooooo ashamed!! hahaha!!

Its crazy how bad you actually start to feel when you load yourself up on soooo much sugar! Its just a blagh feeling!! My stomach started to hurt last night and I took 2 pepto tablets. Did you know that pepto can turn your tongue black and give you a horrible taste in your mouth when taken before bed? Creepy!

The worst of the worst, is the large amount of FANTA soda we had left over that I have been working down for the last couple of nights. That is why I dont keep that crap anywhere near me usually!

Okay, done whining about my total lack of will power!

Don't be one of "those" bloggers...

Leave it to me to express verbally...well sort of, the evil that tends to rear its ugly face in the blog world. I will first start by stating that lately, I have not been able to visit and read my daily crack of blogs. There are periods (not many,) when life goes from priority to SUPER-priority and of course, tops blogging. For the most part, I would like to think that I have "reserves," times when I spent significant time reading or browsing and commenting on my favorite blogs. There are only sooooo many I can read that have the same old mundane day to day life posts....sorry but some of the experiences are not that eventful or entertaining, but it's cool, because it's yours. I'm sure there are some of my posts, that make you want to flick me. I of course don't care, but that is waaaay besides the point. <---like most of my "pretend to be tough" stuff usually is! ha!

I have a handful of blogs I read regularly simply because they have supported me from the beginning when I had like 10 friends. <---real blog winner. I read a few regularly that have great pics of their families doing cool stuff. There are also my home school/activities blogs that I heart and get ideas from. Last but not least, there are my "bad girl" blogs. These are my extremely guilty pleasures, and lady bloggers from my own heart. These girls are honest to the core, use profanity when needed, have a sense of humor, tend to over-share, and are not afraid to go out on a limb to express an opinion...even if they are out on that limb all alone.

So, the purpose of this post, aside from me having a "serious" moment and typing my same old self righteous, shamelessly me centered stuff?

Warning, possibly perceived (although not) jealous moment coming up...

Don't be a mean blogger. Its important to show gratitude or respect to bloggers who support you. Acknowledge readers who stop by regularly and leave comments, especially comments that indicate they actually read your posts, and I'm not talking about the"hey I'm your newest follower....follow back please." Thank them for turning around and promoting your site by linking up to you and your obvious Rock Star Status!

Remember, its like any other thing...without readers...what are you really doing? Sure, you are "journaling" but would you possibly become involved with your readers if they were to all of a sudden "unfollow" you? Don't be spoiled! Don't use someones content, without even bothering to comment on their original post. Give credit where credit is due, and you will not be hunted and placed on a skewer by me.

Can I get an amen, if ya feel me?! Dee

Who are you? What do you want? Who do you want to be?

I was inspired recently by a fellow blogger to write this...

To fellow mommas:

Who are you? Are you everything you ever hoped you would be? Are you comfortable in your own skin? Are you confident to take a stand and not fear standing out there all by yourself?

Sometimes we as mothers feel like we have to be a certain way, say certain things, and fit into a particular mold, but guess what? Thats crap. Its totally okay to come home from work and secretly wish you were coming home to a single girls least for one night, for peace, quite, and a good book...or reality show!

When will we as moms stop measuring our own self worth by judging the actions or perceived motivations of others?

So, what are some of the very things that we judge other mothers on? Simple. Style, career, discipline methods, social life, schooling type, relationship status, etc. The list goes on and on. I am in no way perfect (BELIEVE ME!!) but I would advise one what you want...there is no reason why moms cannot also be people.

Do you ever shy away from being associated with something because you fear what others will think? Well you suck. You are living your life for someone else, and not yourself, and for suck.

Consider yourself enlightened.

Updates from the semi burnt out!

I hate getting into ruts where I don't feel like typing and I would rather crawl in bed under the covers and hide from my life. Trying to balance life and its demands is sooooo frustrating and exhausting, or maybe its just me...I'm such a weirdo! Whaaaaa!! Okay I'm done feeling sorry for myself!

I home school monkey and we do pretty good, but then Bean gets tired of being "ignored" that he starts to act up and have screaming fits! He pinches super hard and throws stuff at me! I have been trying the "time out" method (I know some of you are rolling your eyes and some of you are laughing your asses off!)

I am seriously going to stick to it this time. Now I just sound like a tubby contestant on the Biggest Loser! Great, now I just want some cheese cake!

I literally have the kid that has to be with his mother at all times! He cries and throws himself on the floor when I tell him "no," and wants me to carry him at all times! Bean is a serious piece of work, but I love him! I cannot believe that in a couple of weeks he will be 2! I feel like we have been in the terrible 2's for 2 years now! I looooove being a mom, but its stages in development (like the terrible tot years) that make me second guess my choice for more kids.

Is it strange?

Is it strange that p-bear and I do random things like placing our barefoot Bean on an expensive lawn mower for no other reason then our own shameless amusement in taking pictures while we laugh our butts off like complete morons? Is it strange that we don't care?

Is it strange that I stay up late after everyone else has gone to sleep and watch scary movies in the dark on netflix from my computer?

Is it strange that I ate a Little Debbie Oatmeal Cream snack this morning before 10am? I could seriously live off of those and Caramel Delights!
Is it strange that I often times avoid eye contact outside my house when my neighbors are out?

Is it strange that I think eating pizza with diet coke is stupid?

Is it strange that I usually dread going to kids birthday parties? Sometimes even when they are my kids?

Is it strange that I would pick doing a presentation for 1000 people rather then talking to a group of 5?

I was just up<--because I am an insomniac psycho, and started wondering how strange I really am. Then of course these thoughts and questions just had to go on Free2bMommy.

MBM - You are a tool!

Have I left you feeling lonely? Unfulfilled? Afraid? Worried? Abandoned? That is totally normal considering how much time I have stayed away from blogging. Whats it been, like 2 weeks?!

I know that you were most likely crying yourself to sleep with worry about me, right? haha!!

Really though, thanks to those of you who took the time to email me to make sure things were okay.

Now, MBM...

Dear Man with the chubby fingers,

First of all, I was sleep deprived and staring out into goo goo land when you felt the need to not just "beep" but BLARE your horn at me! How rude are you? I think I was there for like a millisecond and you were going off like a big old monkey who just had his banana yanked from him! <===you really did sort of look like this! Then after honking at me, for a more then appropriate time I might add, you proceeded to give ME the finger!! Now, I could be wrong, but shouldn't it be me giving you the finger for honking at me in such a ridiculous manner? Its true that I shamefully puffed my face out and held my arms out in front of me clearly referencing your big belly, but you totally deserved it.

Disclaimer: For the record, I love chubby people!
